Information
As a GP with a dance background, my thesis for a Master's in Sports Medicine focuses on leg dominance perception and its relation to balance performance in Contemporary Dancers. The study involves performing various balance postures on a force plate, with sensors placed on the legs to compare neuromuscular activation between legs during these tasks.
Why join this research?
Your participation will contribute to valuable data that can greatly benefit leg dominance understanding, and may impact future training methods and injury prevention strategies for contemporary dancers. There is limited research specifically focused on this field, and you have the opportunity to make a contribution to dance science.
As this is a student research project, there is no financial compensation; however, you will receive detailed information about your test results. This data can offer a different understanding of your own performance.
Who can participate in this research?
We are looking for professional contemporary dancers who meet the following criteria:
- Over 18 years old
- Healthy and not currently injured
- Dancing over 6 hours weekly
- Training for more than 7 years
If this sounds like you, we would be delighted for you to consider being part of this project.
